American Century Utilities Inv (BULIX)
A FAVORITE BECAUSE: Call us old fashoned, but we think utilities funds should be old, slow, and boring. And they don't get much more boring than American Century Utilities. BULIX does its best to avoid potential Enrons, but in so doing tends to post consistent but middling performance versus similar funds, year after year after year (after year).
WE DON'T LIKE: It's not a feature, but a bug? Amcent Utilities' slow and steady approach means it might not be a good fit for Type A, Mad Money watching investors.
